Emily Odoire first practiced Pilates when at the Royal Ballet School in 1992, helping her through injury and increasing her strength and fitness even when training in classical ballet for 8 hours daily.
Emily became a BASI-qualified Pilates instructor in 2004 and is now a faculty member and examiner for this Pilates method.
She first trained with Alan Herdman Pilates and has over 18 years of experience teaching equipment and mat classes privately and in well-respected London studios. Emily runs a private, fully equipped Pilates studio in South West London. She is also often asked to travel both domestically and internationally to teach BASI training courses. She has led courses in Paris, Istanbul, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, and Dubai. Emily strongly believes Pilates can be for everyone, irrespective of age or ability. She particularly enjoys working with people with injuries and pre /postnatal. She is genuinely passionate about Pilates and its positive effect on an individual’s well-being. Emily continues to invest in her own development to improve her teaching, remain current, and provide an enjoyable and challenging experience for her clients and students.
Emily thoroughly enjoys the privilege of working with and mentoring students through their journey and continuing to assist them with their ongoing learning with over 18 years of experience teaching equipment and mat classes.
Emily has a natural and approachable style that immediately puts people at ease. One of her strengths is assessing movement patterns and recognizing what is needed for the individual's body.
When Emily isn’t busy with Pilates, she loves spending time with her husband, two young boys, and French Bulldog, all of whom keep her very busy.
