From The Ground Up

Learn about the connection of the foot and how it plays a role in activities of daily living using BASI Pilates repertoire and other techniques.

After being introduced to Body Arts and Sciences International's (BASI) founder Rael Isacowitz, Katie completed the BASI Certification Program in 2004.

In 2011, her studio in Indianapolis became a host site for BASI Teacher Training Programs, and she became Faculty in 2015 after working with Rael since 2001.  Her dedication to Pilates comes from her passion for the beauty of movement, desire for knowledge, and enthusiasm to help others achieve their maximum potential

She has taken courses with many Pilates greats, including Kathy Grant, Lolita San Miguel, Alan Herdman, Mari Winsor, Ron Fletcher, Mary Bowen, and Bob Liekens.

Besides Pilates, Katie has completed her Gyrotonic Foundation Level 1 Training and Certification. She is also certified on the Gyrotonic Jump Sliding Board, having worked with Master trainers Debra Rose, Juergen Bamberger, Alissa Seim, and Kathy Van Patten.

Katie has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Athletic Training with a minor in Chemistry from Butler University. A long-term goal is to complete her Master’s Degree in Anatomy from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Katie’s academic training in Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Neurology has helped her accommodate clients with a variety of physical challenges, from low back pain to ALS and to cancer.
