As Pilates instructors we cannot diagnose injuries or pathologies, however, we can learn to work with diagnoses. We can learn to safely teach what we know, which is how to move effectively and efficiently thereby helping clients improve their quality of life. In this workshop, you will learn about some of the most common Chronic Pain Syndromes including fibromyalgia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. You will learn definitions and descriptions of these syndromes, signs and symptoms, possible client presentations, precautions and contraindications, and Pilates exercise ideas. Through lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice participants will learn safe ways to work with clients who suffer from some of the most commonly encountered Chronic Pain Syndromes.
